The Black Boy Mattering Project is a unique school partnership that serves as a think tank for adolescent Black boys to gather in community to describe their mattering and imagine it more robustly or comprehensively. Through one-on-one interviews, focus group interviews, field trips, and creative experiences like art making, we, as a collective of researchers and scholar activists, provide humanizing and healing contexts for Black adolescent boys in schools to individually and collectively theorize on their worth and significance, in relation to those in their school and the world around them.
